Lauren and Caitlin met while working on the Art Shanty Projects on Medicine Lake. Their love for clay and education birthed ArtClub MPLS.

Minneapolis artist Lauren Herzak-Bauman has been sharing her love for art with students for the past 10 years. During the school year, Lauren teaches art classes at University of WI River Falls. She has taught in numerous community education programs including Northern Clay Center, the City of Minneapolls Community Education, and programs for adult artists with disabilities. Lauren hails from Cleveland, Ohio where she her youth was spent taking movement classes at the Cleveland Insitute of Music and helping her mom start a community art center. She keeps an art studio at an old bottling warehouse in the Seward/Longfellow neighborhood and welcomes visitors to her space!

Favorite food: Licorice and Gummi Bears!

Favorite activities: sailing and dancing. 

If you could have any superpower what would it be? I wish I could fly.

Caitlin Hargarten is from Milwaukee Wisconsin but now calls NE Minneapolis home. She studied Ceramics at the U of M and still creates work in her at home studio. She continues to facilitate public art working on local festivals and events. She keeps busy with all sorts of projects, spending her days working in video production and is currently collaborating on a DIY screen printing book and does workshops around town.

Favorite food: cheese!!
Favorite activities: sewing, gardening and eating cheese.
